Godtech - Data Panel
Includes: Advanced Femtotech (basic) through Hypofemtotech to Plancktech (Depends on the toposophic of the maker) Constitute: Godtech Civilizations Also Found In: Transapientech Civilizations, and in the proximity of Godtech Civilizations, where discarded artifacts are common Found Sporadically In: some Ultratech civilizations, and much more rarely High Tech and even Middle and Low Tech civilizations and societies. But while these polities may possess these artifacts, they cannot maintain and almost always cannot operate, them. Artifacts may also be discovered in deep space or poorly explored solar systems, left by since transcended higher toposophic Minds or civilizations. Toposophic Requirements: SI:3 to SI:4 and above (depends on the toposophic or the original builder) Current Galactographic Distribution: The most obvious example of godtech as far as most sophonts are concerned is the Wormhole Nexus and the Godweb that binds galactic civilization together. But in addition to the Sephirotic and other archailect-empires, there are also a number of Integral Godtech civilizations which are very inaccessible. But godtech artifacts can be found scattered throughout the entire terragen bubble, whether deliberately distributed by these civilizations, or left by transcended Minds. Further Comments: Godtech is technology made and used by the highest transapient, archailectual powers. Its workings are completely beyond the understanding of lower toposophics, and cannot be used by them, unless it is specifically modified to be lower toposophic-friendly. Such femtotech, hypofemtotech, and plancktech artifacts, which cannot be replicated by sub-archailect polities, fetches a high price, and often has an impact on the social, cultural, and economic landscape of lower toposophics out of all proportion to its actual value. Many fine specimens can be found in major major museums and the habs of wealthy and powerful collectors. Because the discovery of a single godtech device can set up a sophont in wealth and prestige for life, adventurers and treasure hunters scour the galaxy and undergo tremendous risks in the hope of discovery. Most are unsuccessful, but those few that do strike it rich become culture heroes, whose adventures are retold (often with layers of additional mythology) in countless interactive dramas and virch narratives that become enshrined in popular folklore, and keep the dream alive Macroscale devices based on femtotech principles are typically clarketech in nature (or at least that is how they appear to lower toposophics). In known space there are no more than three dozen large-scale integral megascale AIs using massive distributed femtotech and hypofemtotech nodes, these are the sephirotic gods and other equivalent high-level archailects. |
Banks Orbitals - ring habitats constructed using magmatter
Conversion Drive - spacecraft propulsion using monopole catalysed conversion of matter to energy
Conversion Weapons - weapons using monopole catalysed conversion of matter to energy
Ghostlight - Godtech level weapon using mutually annihilating beams of Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) to focus large amounts of gamma frequency radiation on a target without regard to any intervening matter.
Magmatter dense, superstrong material made from exotic 'magatoms', which have a range of extraordinary and useful magchemical and physical properties
Monopoles elementary particles that carry units of magnetic charge; used in many kinds of advanced technology
Shatterbomb - Godtech that creates a brief, intense and localized increase in the expansion of space-time resulting in the disruption of any matter within the affected volume.
Ylem - Lower toposophic - friendly and usable ultratech-godtech building material of unknown origin.
