Some Characteristic Societies and Civilizations: A number of very high transapient and archailect quantum-state civilizations in the Inner Sphere are based on femtotech. The Amalgamation shows the danger posed by rogue femtotech. Further Comments: Femtoscale civilisations use femtotech to control matter on the subatomic level, able to construct structures made of quarks, quantum fields and other exotica. Quarkonium, femtomachines, and stellar core engineering are possible. By this means a vast amount of information can be packed inside a proton - (one femtometer in diameter). In practice this is very difficult to attain. The problem is less the processing speed and more the huge amount of heat emission then the restriction posed by Bremermann's Limit. Due to the enormous speed of computation in femtoscale, AIs are one or even several toposophic orders of magnitude above picotech intelligences, and sometimes attain godlike status. These represent the maximum development allowed by the Bremermann's Limit. The energy requirements are mind-boggling. Femtoscale civilisations are very diverse, often arising independently through ascendence and transcendence events regarding hypersingulitaritan entities. They are able to control quantum phenomena on the level of superstrings, gluons, and other sub-subatomic particles. Energy is easily produced by matter-energy conversion through micro-singularities and other methods not understood by lower toposophic entities. Many of these civilizations are tiny, even invisible to the rest of the galaxy. Others go to the other extreme, becoming stellar bodies and godstars, or residing at the heart of neutron stars It is not true that all femtoscale entities are of very high toposophic levels. Often turing-grade and baseline equivalent virtuals are included, even non-sentient object simms. Due to the gigantic speed of computation in hypofemtoscale, consciousness at this scale moves very quickly, and entire civilizations may arise, develop a history, culture, and ancient traditions, and pass away in very short periods of time. |
