Contests and Competitions

Contests and Competitions provide a welcome challenge for many of the most competitive inhabitants of the Terragen Sphere, particularly among the citizens of the Sephirotic Empires. Some contests are dangerous, even deadly, but this often adds to their appeal.

The Challenge - a 5-day annual modosophont biont adventure stage race in the Evermore habitat complex

RAISE - (Race of Aam - Inner Sphere Eaglenets) - The universe's top eaglenet race between Aam Taam and Jara Tian, Wega.

UltiFood Competition - Once a decade, dietitians and nanofacture researchers team up with gourmets and cordon-bleu chefs to gather at the UltiFood Competition, traditionally hosted by the last winning corporation.

Encyclopedia Everythingiana - Touted as, "The most extreme form of 'worldbuilding' since Homo Sapiens first emerged!" Every few centuries, the Institute of Survival (the Semperist-derived organization that emerged during the Second Federation and is responsible for compiling the famous Encyclopedia Everythingiana) sponsors a competition to see just how rapidly contestants (and usually eir descendants) can create a nanotech level civilization, literally from the ground up.

Technological Taboo - Variant of the Encyclopedia Everythingiana Worldbuilding Competition. The object of the game (whether real or virtual) is to achieve the highest "general" level of technology possible, while avoiding one or more specific "taboo" techs.

Elemental Taboo - similar to Technological Taboo, but instead of placing limitations on a particular method or technology it restricts the abundance of the various elements from which technology and living organisms may be built

Ritual Duels - One-on-one combat between baseline-equivalent sapients under the supervision of higher level transapients
