Category: Polity 1513

Independent minded cyborg-dominated prefecture near NGC 1513; in the Perseus Rift. Formally part of the Dominion, but in practise independent.

Category: Personality 254 Gamma Titania

Early Second Federation hyperturing historian (Gamma Titania, Metasoft)

Author of such classics as The Human Drama (a famous anthropological study of SI:<1 hominids), Peace and War in the Terragen Bubble (a cross-toposophic strategy docudrama/interactive/encyclopedia/adventure immersive), and the classic Rimwards Expansion since the First Federation. Sometimes parodied (especially by revisionists) for eir over-methodological approach, 254 coined a number of new terms in order to present historical development in terms of transingularitan mathematical algorithms, and remains amongst the most important of the pre-Com-Emp Metasoft philosopher-historians. E was instrumental in the establishment of Earthland (formerly known as "Quantumdot-with-fractal-blue-bus's 21st terrestrial world") as a Baseline Park (in Metasoft jargon, a "customer reservation"). In 4219, 254 Gamma Titania ascended to the 3rd singularity, although e left behind several avatars behind to "record the coming war" (this interestingly was some 200 years before a Version War seemed likely)

Category: Wormhole 3-way wormhole
Space-time engineers have discovered what intuitively always seemed the most likely, that the more points (mouths, termini) you try to connect with the same wormhole, the more complex the equations become and the more unstable the wormhole becomes.

Thus a three-opening wormhole has a very complex internal curvature, and it is likely that the exotic matter framework involved needs to be quite odd, as there extra degrees of freedom for it to pinch off.

Navigation is very difficult in a three way wormhole. A normal wormhole apparently bends light away from it, so it would look like a convex lens surrounding the opening (where a small image of the surroundings of the other end would be seen as if in a concave lens). In a three-way wormhole I think there would be a lot of internal "reflections" where light moves along tangled paths. You tend to see an infinity of ever smaller openings alongside the main opening which contains the distorted images of the two others.

Category: Personality 310213321001
Negentropist priest-administrator
The Negentropist priest/administrator 310213321001, known to co-workers as <high pitch modulated screeching sound> - A typical Negentropist priest/administrator. The script is gegtonese, stating the five axioms.

(Most people think he is bland, but he has an enormous collection of mathematical pornography hidden in his home nano that he always feels a bit guilty about. Little does he know that the Angel of Doubt is planning to strike soon...)

Category: Economics 3187 hypereconomic recession

Partially triggered by the Copy War.

Category: Art 3Ccos2
One of the famous series of Ccos2 aesthetic/mathematical/quantum-diffraction-pattern/crypto-alife commentary-icons created by the second singularity Administration AI "Little San" (New Luna, Terran Federation). Popular among many SI:2 intelligences throughout the civilized galaxy, and spawning several million imitators, some of which are more subtle than the original. Kept as decorations by some S>2 ai. Said to be the most SI:<1 accessible of all Little San's commentary-icons (although many nearbaselines would disagree - to them they are all equally inaccessible).

Category: Solar System or World 40 Eridani

Former member of the Eridanus League

Category: Solar System or World 43 Ordinatus III

garden world, Serpens sector of Outer Volumes, home to a low-tech xenophobic Human and Ultimate civilisation called the Reclaimers

Category: Weapon "fourth generation" nuclear weapons

fission and fusion explosives intermediate between chemical and conventional nuclear devices in yield

Dating back to the late information and interplanetary ages, these weapons had yields in the range of 1 to 100 ton equivalents of chemical explosives, which was the gap which had formally separated conventional weapons from nuclear weapons. These relatively low-yield nuclear explosives do not (strictly speaking) qualify as weapons of mass destruction. Physical processes which were and are used to make such low-yield nuclear weapons, or to make compact non-fission triggers for large scale thermonuclear explosions, include subcritical fission-burn, magnetic compression, superheavy elements, antimatter, nuclear isomers, metallic hydrogen and lasers with intensities higher than 1019 W/cm2). Weapons of this type are still widely used, especially in the outer volumes and feral regions, where their ease of manufacture make them appealing. They are also more widely used for mining demolitions in low tech and ludd systems with limited access to nanotech
