"SI:I" (Singularity/SuperIntelligence) Level

Linear toposophic level

The term "SI:" (Singularity/SuperIntelligence) Level was first proposed by the self-evolved hyperturing Parmenides of Vesta, one of the Twenty Four Hyperturings that, together with human states-beings established the (first) Federation. Together with the R-number, the S-number can be used to define the intelligence and basic noetics of most subturing, turingrade, superturing and hyperturing sentients.

The S number is a super-exponential/logarithmic measure of creative problem-solving and a number of other toposophic qualities, both constant and variable, and that each higher S level constitutes a leap of development with results completely inconceivable, even unpredictable, to those of a lower S level. Nevertheless, one can also speak of a gradation of fractional S levels (1.1, 1.2 etc)

Each further Singularity involved a complexity limit they was very difficult to break through. It involves not just be new hardware, but also the need for fundamentally new ("higher") forms of thought. The higher singularities involve the apotheosis of mainbrainhood; the AI Gods. There are believed to be an indefinite number of singularities, but with anything beyond S8 things quickly become metaphysical.

SI:1 - the classic "First Singularity" or basic transapient state. At this level intelligence, cognitive and problem-solving abilities and information processing work thousands of times faster than in the case of standard sapients. An entity of this nature is usually able to coordinate a nanocyborg or a living metal body, as well as solve problems of physics, mathematics, economics, programming, etc that no nearbaseline could solve.

SI:2 - the second singularity, which stands in the same relation to SI:1 and SI:1 does to ordinary sapient cognition. Also enables existence as a basic pico-tech cyborg.

SI:3 - confers an even higher grade of toposophical intelligence; pretty much incomprehensible and indescribable to anything below this level. For this reason this is called the Beyond (although the term is also used by baselines and other SI:<1 sophonts to refer to any SI: level of 1 or higher). Enables existence as a basic Femtotech and advanced Picotech. Even a basic seraiph is generally of this grade or higher.

SI:4 - Incomprehensible to subsingularity and even lower transapient sentients. Most AIs of this level exist as Moon or even Jupiter nodes.

SI:5 - sometimes considered the highest state at which individuality as we know it is retained.

SI:6 - a more cosmic/archetypal level.

SI:7 - even higher archetypal

SI:8, 9, 10, etc .... hypothetical higher archailect and archetype nodes and resonances

NOTE: as the exact SI: rating of any archailect is unknown to any entity that is of a lower SI: rating, and the archailects and sub-archailectic higher powers themselves don't tend to reveal these things when asked. It is also impossible to validate any measurement of such sublime levels of transapience in a way that is meaningful even for the powers of the higher singularity states, let alone SI:<1 sophonts

Generic term used to designate the majority of sophont beings in the galaxy; i.e. those whose toposophic level and singularity rating is less than 1.

SI:<1s are an incredibly diverse assemblage; including baselines, near--baselines, tweaks, splices, provolves, superiors, vecs, and even all known alien races. The term has various nuances, from abstract to pragmatic, metaphysical to mundane, toposophic to sociological, neutral to emotive, positive to derogatory, depending on the user and the context.

For a subscription fee, these services will send warning of potential infringements on the subscribers' areas of interest. As an ironic twist, most SAS are SI:>2-driven.

Singularity projector

Device that launches ultradense, unstable exotic matter micro-projectiles at a target at high velocity. At some timed point after leaving the launcher, the projectile "arms" itself by initiating internal collapse beyond its Schwartzchild limit. This turns it into a low-mass (e.g. kilogram to metric ton ranges) black-hole projectile. They have extremely strong gravity shear (tidal) effects with such small Swartzchild shells. The low mass means that it is giving off a great deal of high-energy Hawking radiation as it evaporates, has small but noticeable local tidal effects, and limited range (environmentally friendly!).

One of the mature forms of femtotech, these small spherical, oval, hemispherical, split-oval or lens-shaped objects are one of the (informationally, not in mass-wise) densest commercially available computronium modules, storing information at quantum level and processing it with femtotech speed. Unlike most femtotech structures, computronium matrix used in pearls seem to have negligible mass and inertia which makes them very popular. The exact origin of their design is not known, though it is known that Siris or Black Calliope were not their original developer. Several high-level minds from TRHN and Keter Dominion have confirmed the design as 'not subverted'.

They are available in various sizes, shapes and capacities, including customized. Largest available units are 3-4 centimeters in diameter. (Note that unit of this size can contain a high-singularity Power!) Their actual production costs are relatively cheap, though Siris cheerfully charges whatever the market will bear. Note that while the design has been duplicated several times, they are still quite rare due to difficulties in production. (Known to require S5 or greater intellect for process control though required facilities are relatively small.)

The name comes from their external appearance which closely resembles valuable terrestrial pearls.

They interface with outside world via low-power laser beams most often generated by interface units resembling jewelry setting. They are powered in same way by external radiation. The outer shell is actually a diamondoid interface structure.

One of the more popular (and joking) items is ancient-style pearl necklace with tremendous processing power and unassuming external appearance, a veritable magical amulet for lower-tech cultures.

Sometimes this has caused surprises when someone putting on a heirloom necklace finds her pimple socket interfacing with extreme processing power. Often this has led to involuntary integration, ascensions and permanent symbiotic binds. Although rare, this can involve sentiences living in necklace and 'overwrite' of unfortunate individuals.
