Terragen Sophonts (Clades and Phyles)
There are a vast diversity of sophont beings that have developed from or been developed from terragen biont and aiont life. These may be purely biological, cyborg, droid, aioid, or anything else. by definition arbitary. As a category it has been included in the encyclopaedia only to give the baseline or near-baseline reader a general appreciation of the great diversity and value-importance of such creatures in the civilized galaxy. Although they do not contribute to the day to day running of sciety (as for that matter neither do most S<1's) they do contribute by their very existence, as an expression of the diversity and abundance of the universe (again, as do most S<1's)
Heuristic Definition: For convenience, the term Sophont or Sapient is used to designate any sentient being of T 1 and S<1, regardless of whether the sentient in question is vir (virtual) or ril (non-virtual), biont or aiont or any combination of the two, and terragen or non-terragen. On this page only terragen sophonts are listed.
