The Orion's Arm Metaverse (OAM for short) is a new OA commercial project, a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) based on the Orion's Arm universe. This will be a state-of-the-art MMOG and include leading edge visual rendering, innovative gameplay and advanced AI. It will originally be set in an orbital habitat called Harmony but will gradually and progressively expand from there throughout that solar system and then the Wormhole Nexus
There is already some worldbuilding material on the OAM Wiki , but we need more input to fill it out, including copying over or adapting definitions from the main OA site that are applicable to the initial OAM setting.
Please note that the OAM wiki is not an alternative to this worldbuilding or writing forums. The Yahoo OA lists and V/FT ezine remain the sole, official, worldbuilding and creative writing forums for OA. The Canon for the OA universe is determined at the orions_arm list. However as appropriate entries are added to the OAM wiki as part of the game design (e.g. Harmony Habitat, Chawan system) they will then be resubmitted (either in modified form or not) to the orions_arm list just as any other worldbuilding EG entry is. So you can certainly still write stuff for the OAM project, and resubmit it to the main worldforum.
If anyone is interested in helping to flesh out the OAM database, please go to http://oametaverse.net/index.php/Main_Page and sign in. You will need to have approval from Giulio Prisco, the OAM project manager, before you can actually make any edits to the OAM wiki. It is also important that contributers to the OAM wiki be members of one of the official OA mail lists
