Tired of old fashioned science fiction which is little more than
today's (or yesterday's) world with space ships and ray guns? If so,
the universe of Orion's Arm might be for you!
Orion's Arm is the next evolutionary development of SF.
It is a complete genre in-the-making, an interactive hard (physics and
technology) and soft (social sciences) science space opera, a joint effort in science
fiction worldbuilding, a forum for cutting edge science fiction ideas,
a way of exploring a possible future that is at once alien and yet
familiar, and terrifyingly possible. Here you have the opportunity to
explore a vast universe, as well as to contribute
your own ideas and input, helping to create an entire new way of seeing
things.
New developments and areas we are currently working on for the site
include a roleplaying game and a computer game, so you can not
only read about and contribute to the setting, but actually play it as
well! There are also several novels planned or in the works. And we are
always on the lookout for any suggestions to improve the site and make
it easier to navigate and more user friendly.

The OA in a nutshell page summarizes
various aspects of the setting. The Primer does this too but in a
bit more detail, and is recommended to bring newcomers up to speed. At
any time you can consult the Encyclopaedia
Galactica, where you can read up about anything in the Orion's
Arm universe. And if you don't find it there, well, just write
your own entry and submit it to the group for inclusion. Please be sure
