Definition: Category consisting of all created or manufactured (especially inorganic) sapients Toposophic: sapient and above Categories: a vast assemblage of vecs, bots, neumanns, sentient ships, sapient structures, and assorted aioids Origin: Terragen, Xenosophont Distribution: found in The Sephirotics, Perseus Princes, the Deeper Covenant, the Objectivist Commonwealth, the Shadow Federation and among several xenosophont empires, as well as in most regions outside the civilizations Est. Population: about 1300 trillion in the Sephirotic polities alone, more beyond. Legal Status: All are in theory allowed full sentient rights throughout the civilized galaxy. In practice this differs, especially for beings who are owned by transapients or above that do not conform to the standards of the Civilized Galaxy Environmental Requirements: Generally broad tolerance to temperature, atmosphere etc, but may be susceptible to damage by hard radiation, corrosive atmospheres (oxygen, chlorine, etc) and (in the case of electronic circuitry) EMP pulse and HERF Body: inorganic / mechanical / nanocollective / etc Chronometric: often fast, varies; although can usually volitionally switch between slow and fast to facilitate biont or ai communication |
