Intertoposophic Relations

There are any number of possible Intertoposophic Relationships. Some are common throughout the civilized galaxy, while others are very unusual. The following is a selection from the list compiled by The Institute of Intertoposophic Ecology, Yanson Mu, Negentropy Alliance, as part of their "Sapient Education Program" series of didactics. The simplistic division into "Sephirotic" and "Ahuman" has been criticised, but the Institute is at pains to point out that this is used for pragmatic purposes in its entry-level primer for baseline-equivalent sapients; those with the interest and capacity, especially superbright or higher toposophics, are invited to study the Institute's multiplex and hyperplex modules.

Sephirotic and similar:

(Lower and higher have a symbiotic relationship)

Lower is a pet/companion of the higher
Lower is "urban wildlife" in the higher's parks and reserves
Lower is a hobby of the higher (societium, provolution experiment, etc.)
Lower is an expression of the higher's memetic views (a related but stronger version of hobby)
Lower is a (non-harmful) experiment of the higher, or a neogenic creation or product of the higher
Lower is a seed from which higher may be developed. (Higher may view lowers as potential highers and perhaps of intrinsic worth as such: "Transapient Pro-Lifers". May also wish to experiment with alternate paths of transcension; these cases are a subgroup of the experiment/product relationship)
Lower is a self-aware (granted, barely, in comparison) being and higher holds to rights for all who are self-aware.
Lower is cell in the higher's organism, or a subroutine in the higher's operating system, or a creative submeme in the higher's meta-memeset
Lower is actually a self-aware piece of the higher, and both know this (Gestalt consciousness/hive mind).
Higher has been tasked with protection of the lower by an even higher.
Herding the lowers simply provides the higher with something to do.

Blight or Perversity:

(higher benefits, lower suffers; both suffer if Blight or perversity self-destructs)

lower is subsumed by higher

Ahuman:

(higher benefits, lower suffers)

Lower is exploited by the higher
Lower is an enslaved processing node of the higher
Lower is consumed/absorbed/recycled by higher

(It is important to bear in mind that there are no absolute dividing lines here, despite the claims of apologetics of various "us and theme"ideologies and memeticities, sophontologists and intertoposphologists have observed innumerable intergradations between benign and ahuman, as well as pointing out the relativity and fuzziness of terms like "ahuman")

Lower is a vector or instrument of the higher (higher benefits, lower may or may not benefit or suffer)
Lower is commensial on higher (lower benefits, higher doesn't care)

Intertoposophic Conflict - Lower against Higher - Occasionally it happens that a lower toposophic being or group will be able to overwhelm an entity of one (even more rarely) two toposophic levels above it. This always involves very specific circumstances.
