Technology Levels and Superlevels

Technology varies from crude stone age to almost incomprehensible godtech. The type of tech used is determined also by the toposophic level and tech density/scale of the society or civilization that employs it. Because of the huge overlap between and intermingling of various tech levels and societies, the following table, which correlates levels, scales, and historical development, should therefore be taken as provisional in the extreme.

Tech levels and equivalents
Civilization Tech Level toposophic level miniaturization/density historical period first appeared
Major Godtech archailect [SI:5 and above] hypofemto to planck late early interstellar era
Minor Godtech Minor archailect [SI:3 to SI:4] femto to hypofemto late early interstellar era
Transapientech transapient [SI:1 to SI:2] advanced nanotech and picotech middle early interstellar era
Ultratech superbright to SI:1 advanced nanotech early early interstellar era
Hi tech baseline to superbright mesotech to basic and medium nanotech interplanetary age
Middle tech baseline macrotech to microtech and very basic mesotech Late industrial through to information age
Lo tech baseline equivalent macrotech pre-industrial and early industrial age
Prim baseline equivalent very simple macrotech Pre-historic (Paleo- and Neolithic)
