3010 Lucidia was already considered the Avatar of the Universe by her enthusiastic followers, who had already made her non-profit Sophist Institute into a religion.

On the whole, politically this is a mostly peaceful period - mostly interplanetary with some interstellar exploration. There are however many clades and races and biosphere-states that refuse to be a part of the Federation. Also, the assimilation of the countless millions of human refugees that resulted from the Great Expulsion also causes serious problems for the Federation.
