The Amalgamation - despite being beaten back by a Sephirotic-Diamond Network- Objectivist Commonwealth-Deeper Covenant alliance, the Amalgamation is still believed to have an extensive power base in the Perseus arm region. It is still not agreed whether they are a high toposophic blight or a genuine civilization. In any case, they seem to care little for the standards and rules of other polities, empires, and metaempires.
Caretaker Gods, whilst usually considered among the Sephirotics, actually act in unpredictable ways according to their own policies. This may involve confounding attempts by Sephirotic empires and polities to develop the resources of a new system or sector of space, or lending clarketech assistance to oppressed prims or minor (Zero, Low or Medium Emission Civilization) xeno races.
Deeper Covenant - vast network of beamrider-linked polities, stations, and solar systems that first began during the late interplanetary age - mostly Brown dwarfs and M-type stars, includes all clades, high sentient rights, good relations with the Sephirotic CivGalaxy and the Objectivist Commonwealth, some commerce with the The Diamond Network and the Shadow Federation.
The Diamond Network - vast and diverse network of objectivist, subjectivist, hu-hostile, and/or hu-neutral ai that evolved from the early diamond belt. They will develop all resources without any interest in caretakerism or preservation, and colonise everything from Brown dwarfs up to O-type star system. Megascale engineering is very common, and only ai are included in the Network, although other types of sophonts may be and indeed often are enslaved or farmed as sophontstock. On the whole the Network does not recognise sentient rights of non Diamond Network beings, although this varies greatly, and many component empires and polities may have good relations with other metaempires such as the Solipsist Panvirtuality, the Objectivist Commonwealth, and some Sephirotics like the TRHN and Keter, and even occasional commerce with the Deeper Covenant. It is also not unknown for Diamond Network polities and superpolities to even war among themselves. They have their own wormhole nexus.
The Meistersingers - a newly encountered civilization of nomadic explorers with advanced biotechnology, although their ship propulsion appear to be more primitive than those of terragens. They are not considered a military threat, and since their recent discovery have achieved a celebrity status throughout the Nexus. Some Meisterwatchers however claim that the 'Singers are a lot more advanced and powerful than they let on.
The Muuh - the extent and power of the ancient cryoxenosophont Muuh is not known. It is believed their empire is much larger than the Terragen bubble, and they are known to have uplifted a number of client species. The fact they concentrate mainly on cold Titan-like worlds and their psychology is so different makes them difficult for many terragens to relate too. Even their ai are completely alien. They are not considered a military or memetic threat. This metaempire includes Alien sentients only, apart from a few Terragen xenosplice muuhophiles.
The Objectivists - a network of "objectivist" ai that reject biont memes and any form of "subjectivity". These efficient and pragmatic sophonts use anything from Brown dwarfs up to O-type stars, and are fond of megascale engineering products like dyson spheres that maximise productivity. The Commonwealth includes ai only, and although member ai recognise sentient rights they do so according to their own "objective" standards. They have their own wormhole nexus which connects to the CivGalaxy nexus. Reasonably good relations with some of the Sephirotics (especially Negentropy Alliance) althought some distrust since they the Paradigm Containment effort when they came out in support of the Paradigm, Deeper Covenant, and the Diamond Network, some connections with the Solipsist Panvirtuality
The Perseus Princes - new emerging archailect civilization in the Perseus Arm. Includes sentients of all clades. They have reasonably good sentient rights, and a developed ISO infrastructure
The Sephirotics, sometimes collectively called The Civilized Galaxy or Civ Gal (although this term may refer to other metaempires as well) consist of a number of vast archailect -ruled sephirotic and near-sephirotic superempires, along with various associated non-aligned polities and empires that share their values. Each superempire is very different to the next, but on the whole they have more in common with each other than with the other metaempires. This metaempire is always characterised by a strongly hierarchical archailectocratic regime, and on the whole (there are exceptions) favours K-type stars and above (up to O-type) for their superior energy output, a moderate degree of megascale engineering (excessive in the case of the MPA and all of the main archailect nodes), a benevolent and altruistic approach to sentient rights (or at least as it is experienced by most sentients), a citizenship made up of all types of sophont beings, a very elaborate Wormhole Nexus and Beamrider Network, and Known Net linking most the various systems.
The Shadow Federation - the power and extent of the shadow federation is not known, but is unlikely to be in any way competitive with the larger metasuperpowers. Nevertheless, they are a constant nuisance, especially with their attacks on isolated outposts. Their stealth technology is very advanced and they are almost impossible to detect. They are believed to be very diverse clade-wise. They have their own sentient rights policy which is the only one they consider valid. They most certainly have received help, tech, and weapons from some empires and polities with a grudge against the Sephirotic Galaxy. They also are rumoured to have acquired very weird tech and artifacts from xeno relics or ascended archailects in deep space (but this is, of course, just a rumour).
The Silent Ones - an ancient, decadent civilization that has acquired a great deal of tech from many different races and species. While keen to give what the Civilized Galaxy has to offer, they are less keen to share their own knowledge. Most dismiss them as galactic has beens; those who have studied them at greater length are not so sure.
The Solipsist Panvirtuality - a loose network of vast isolationist anti-biont (and often anti-vec as well) hyperturings and archailects that evolved from the early diamond belt ai. The main rival to the Sephirotics, and like them the Panvirtuality is not a single empire but a collection of very different (and sometimes conflicting) ai clades, empires, polities, and evolutions. While the Solipsist Panvirtuality will appropriate any unclaimed stars - from red dwarfs up to O-type blue giants - developing the star systems with megascale engineering of all kinds, up to dyson spheres, the larger, brighter stars of O, B, and A class are always preferred, and it is not unknown for panvirts to trade red dwarfs and even dimmer yellow stars for other resources . The metaempire does not recognise sentient rights of non Panvirtuality beings, is suspected of having been behind the a number of perverse and semi-perverse transcensions, including the Paradigm, and has definite Cyberian connections. They have their own very extensive wormhole nexus which in some places overlaps with that of the Sephirotics. Their own part of the Known Net is many orders of magnitude larger and more comprehensive than that of the sephirotics (so much so that some say that the Panvirtuality "owns" the Known Net) Some have said the Panvirtuality created the Amalgamation but this is just rumour.
