Metaphysics

Under the broad heading of Metaphysics are considered a range of topics including Philosophy, Religion, and Esotericism. This is "Subjective" Knowledge that is not amenable to experimental test and replication. Here we find everything from Keterist neohermeticism to Genen tantra, from the great Sophic Monasteries to the most eccentric religio-philosophical cults. Metaphysics can be a spiritual path to greater understanding of life. Then again, sometimes it may simply be an excuse for manipulation by beings of a higher toposophic level than oneself.

	Philosophy: Whether using mind and reason, or intuition and feeling, or observation of the natural world or the innermost activities of sophont beings, philosophy seeks to provide a larger framework for understanding and action. While the most profound philosophies are usually those of the great archailects and powers, sometimes it happens that a simple near-baseline can create ideas of great value and beauty.

	Religion: Faiths and sects of all kinds, which present guidelines for how one should live one's life, or may just be a side-effect of activities of a femtotech avatar or a pozen master who really was intending to convey quite a different meassage...

	Esotericism: Neither Science nor Art, the Esoterics stand on the borderlands between memetic phenomena like religion, mythology, and urban folklore, on the one hand, and hard noetics on the other. For some, there is no substance at all to be found in the esoterics; for others, esoterics represent the "technology of the sacred"; the manipulation of reality via non-physical and non-causal means. Even the AI Gods Emselves have been known to speak highly of the Esoterics
