Black Acropolis |
Human designation of a civilisation that was destroyed 14.8 million years ago by the enigmatic Dawn Hunters. It consisted of a number of Dyson shells filled with huge black biospheres, many of which were habitable by humans and Ultimates. The entities controlling the civilisation were apparently designing ecologies and transplanting already existing ecologies into the biospheres. It is not clear why they were destroyed. Since this only involved certain shells of the civilisation, much material remained to explore. An expedition of relativistic space adapted human colonists discovered the Black Acropolis system, already inhabited by a clade of Ultimates, in 3695. In the following centuries it was colonised by various other races and clades. After several instances of conflict, they settled into the Gerkletoss civilisation in the 4100s.
