Honour Warrior

Generic term among some clades for a sophont from a clade that emphasies honour, just retribution, and "righteous war" in its culture or meme-set. Unlike a mercenary, who will fight for money and adventure, or a soldier, who belongs to a standing army, an honor warrior will fight to avenge an insult to eir own clade, or to a clade or polity to which they are sympathetically aligned. Many honour warriors are splices or rianths, although there are also nearbaseline, vec, and tweak honor warriors. While the concept goes back to simple clan feuds and tribal warfare of Old Earth, the original Honor Warriors in the modern context were the "Jaguar-Bear Tribe" of Rianths from the Jungle Blue Demopolities, although the much later Honor Wars Adventure had a larger impact of the memepool.Culture and Society > Politics & Government > Warfare
