There seem to be much speculation about this object, what it is and where exactly it is and all that.

They conclude that it's either an extreme trans-neptunian object, a super-terrestrial planet or a very cool brown dwarf.
Shall we wait until they figure out which before we write about its settlement? Smile
Might be best to give it a bit more time.

The curious fact is that this object has been discovered very near in the sky to where Alpha Centauri is, which seems like too much of a coincidence.

I suspect it is an imaging artifact of some sort, or maybe an artificial artifact on its way between the two systems (a beamrider?) (unlikely) but not a random planet in our system.
