In the September/October 2018 Asimov's magazine is a fun, 7-page story titled "The Callisto Stakes." It is told from the perspective of nanites trying to keep their suicidal (or not?) Host alive. If you have access to it, it is worth the read.

I don't unfortunately and the publisher hasn't made it available online. Improperly adjusting one's medisystem settings could lead to similar shenanigans;

"These drugs are terrible, I took them hours ago and don't feel any different!"
