Quote:The candidate world, which has a minimum mass about six times that of Earth, orbits 1.5 astronomical units (AU) from Proxima Centauri and is therefore probably very cold. Its equilibrium temperature hovers around minus 390 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 234 degrees Celsius)
It's likely to be an ice giant. We already have a planet near this location that could be quick-edited to represent this candidate planet:
Skoll.
Ooo cool
so a solid ice giant? Could be a good place for aquatics to colonise. Lay a giant "mat" of heaters powered by fusion to melt a portion of the ice into the sea. Have the mat float on top warming it to keep it liquid and fuel an ecosystem

Ice giant refers to Neptune/Uranus type planets, though of course there is a chance this world could be a superterrestrial planet.
if its a c that means third planet candidate?

Second. a is the star itself. b is the first.
In the current version of Proxima in Encyclopaedia Galactica, there are 1 confirmed planet (Lifthrasir, Proxima b) and 3 fictional planets (Skoll, Hati, Fenris). This version was likely written before the discovery of planet Proxima c. However, Proxima c is similar with Skoll, thus in the thread Proxima Rewrite by The Astronomer, this planet is re-edited in order to match the new discovery. I wonder that when more planets are found around Proxima, how the description will change to adapt the reality.

Orion's Arm is no stranger to editing out entire systems to fit reality. Tau Ceti used to have a completely fictional system before the discovered planets came along. Now that we have 4 known planets, the system was edited accordingly. This should be the same for Proxima and all other real systems.

To expand a bit on what The Astonomer is saying:
Orion's Arm operates in a more or less continuous state of both expansion and editing existing entries. Sometimes edits take place to expand on an existing article, sometimes to adjust an article to make it better fit the setting or fit discoveries or events that take place in the real world. It's really considered just a normal part of life here and not a big deal at all.
Just all in a day's work, basically.
