Very interesting. A competitor to steel that is cheaper, easier and less dangerous to mold and shape, renewable, biodegradable, and lighter.
And it literally grows on trees
More seriously - it is a renewable resource, unlike steel.

Using wood, or any reduced carbon compound, as a structural material removes CO2 from the atmosphere - maybe not much, but every little helps. A few hundred years from now we might be extracting carbon from the air so quickly that there could be a shortage of CO2.
