Techgnotic on Deviantart has set up a tribute page to the late HR Giger, who passed away on May the 12th. Hans Rudi Giger was perhaps best known for designing all the creature life cycles for the movie Alien (1979). His artwork fused the organic and the mechanical in ways that were at once horrifying and mesmerising. He has inspired countless artists and writers, myself included.

Very influential man, some of the tributes are very good. Some are a little....disturbing given their portrayal of sexual aliens with feminine characteristics but others are bang on in how those creations made people feel. I especially like the one of the reading boy with the aliens in the dark, very reminiscent of the fear such things create.
