Astronomy & Astro-Photography - Duddy9 - 11-06-2017

So I've been reading about the OA for a few years now, and this September I was inspired to start a Physics degree through the Open University, hoping eventually to specialise in Astronomy and Planetary Science.

As a bit of an early Christmas present, I've decided today to order my first telescope. I decided against a big reflector because I've heard setting them up is really a 2 man job, also they take up a lot of room and can be expensive. So I decided on a small refractor with 700 mm focal length and 20 mm eye piece, which should give good enough magnification for lunar and planetary observation, which is all I'm really looking for at this moment.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone else on the forum has a telescope and if so what type. What have your experiences been? Have you tried astro-photography? If so would you be interested in sharing your pictures?
