Wormhole animation - stevebowers - 02-03-2025

Really good simulation of a trip through a wormhole here.

The wormhole in this simulation looks like this;

which looks reasonably similar to the version I made for OA many years ago

so I must have been on the right track.

The most interesting portion of the animation to me is when the viewpoint is directly in the throat; the spherical 'hole distorts into a flat disk apparently sandwiched between two spherical starfields.

Let me see if I understand something about wormholes.
Say I am entering the wormhole from a direction, say south to north. I come out the wormhole heading north from it, right?
Now say I enter the wormhole 180 degrees around. I come out the wormhole heading south, correct?
Or am I all wet?

Yes, that's correct. A wormhole is a spherical/ three dimensional thing rather than the 2D 'door' or whirlpool that most SF shows depict.
