That's interesting. The super-Penrose effect should cause a wormhole to emit a certain amount of energy, as if it had a temperature. This could be detectable at great distances. This would allow the First Federation to detect, and maybe even map, the Taurus Nexus before they got there. It should also allow the massed/linked telescope arrays of the Sephirotic Empires to map the wormhole nexii of other metaempires, as well as the nexii of xenosophont empires at some distance.
