The Greater South Africa Republic was sufficiently wealthy by the end of the Nanotech window to fund its own colony ship to the star Cervantes. Launched in 590, the ship arrived in 1080 with less than four hundred surviving colonists in cryosleep. The new colony, on a Mars-sized moon of Mu Arae b, was given the name New Greater South Africa Republic. The name was later distorted into Negsoa.

The initial event of what, in the Current Era, is generally referred to as the Technocalypse (also known as the Fall, the ePocalypse, the Crash, the Simplification, the Nanodisaster, and many other terms across Terragen space and history) began on the evening of Galileo 1, 540 AT (January 5, 2509 CE) with a sudden surge in emergency responder calls across the Inner Solar System. It would be most of two days later before the disaster response teams on and around Venus, Earth, Mars, Luna, and the orbital habitats would start to put the pieces together, but with the benefit of hindsight it is possible to arrange the order of events more directly.

Hmm. I just checked the settings and it looks like you should be able to. Let me know if the problem persists and if it does I will bump the issue up to Trond if I can't fix it myself. I think Trond is still doing a bit of update/maintenance work behind the scenes and this might be a side-effect.

In the meantime can you just repost your earlier comment?

Many expeditions involve relativistic journeys, because one is voyaging beyond the wormhole nexus. Frankenstein Syndrome http://www.orionsarm.com/eg-article/480d41a65054c

"One of the best known instances of mass Frankenstein Syndrome is the Children of Moreau movement of 5576. That situation spawned a cult and terrorist group among hominid splices that survives to this day. Some other famous historical incidents are the Angelnet Massacres of 10745, and the Crystalline Murders of 8840. The hideous subsumptions that took place in Paradys MCMVII are the most notorious instance of Frankenstein Syndrome in a virtual world."

I think the year 10745 is too recent. What is the the most recent year registered in the Encyclopedia Galactica?

Good point. The numbers for the date were picked more or less at random, so I'll change that to some time well before our rather fuzzy (due to relativity) 'present day'.

Edit: it turns out that 7048 shows up as the date according the timeline, so that will be the date.

The current timeline was established to be around 10601, but that was several years ago; it is probably 10617 by now.

Hi, something more.
In the article Technorapture Hypernation http://www.orionsarm.com/eg-topic/45ce493e2bea5 there is a lack of interlinks. I think some links can be added.
For example a link to the short article called "Technorapture".

Also keter, toposophic, ascension, posthuman, bioborg, cyborg, federation, transhumanist, cosmist, omegism, outer volumes, periphery, Ascends and Transcends , Efficiency Maximization Paradigm, blight or perversity, Metasoft .
